Things To Do In The Three Valleys
Whether it be a non-skiers holiday, combination of skiers and non-skiers or simply a break away from the norm, it’s good to know there are plenty of activities to get involved with when you come to the Three Valleys Ski Area.
Val Thorens Non-Skiers
Ice Driving Academy (with more details available here)
Somewhere between ice skating and speedway, you can experience high speed and high altitude driving around the very track used by Formula 1’s Alain Prost. It doesn’t end there! The Academy have extended their vehicular range to Ice Karts, and even an 800 cc 2 seater buggy ensuring the whole family can fulfil their need for speed!
You will need your skis or board for this activity, though well worth the effort. The zip wire is available to those over 8 years of age, and is accessible from the top of the Bouchet chairlift. It sure is a fun way to ride across the piste to the Funitel, whilst absorbing the breathtaking views from a height.
Meribel Non-Skiers
There are skidoo rides! Jet skis on snow may conjure up the right image. Available with Whitetracks from 5.30pm onwards. Drivers need to be 16 years or over, though passengers as young as 6 or 7 years of age are permitted to ride provided they are able to hold on tight.
Snowshoe treks are a popular choice among non skiers. Tours are available in most resorts with ESF who will provide equipment and expertise. All you need is warm ski type clothing and some good walking boots, preferably waterproof.
Plenty for Non-Skiers in Courchevel
Courchevel really is a multi faceted area. Visitors to the different resorts within the valley will never be short of unique distractions and attractions at altitude. You can cruise the skies via the huge network of bubble lifts, and the famous Saulire cable car. There’s also a cinema, art gallery, shopping til you drop and never ending choices of Après-Ski. If feeling energetic and creative there is igloo building skills and snow dancing!
